Berean's Elementary Ministry: A Parent's Guide Children's Pastor:Nate Meiers (756-3300, ext. 230) PN8@bereanmansfield.com. Welcome to the elementary department!Elementary aged children are very receptive to Jesus' offer of salvation. So we are excited to have the opportunity to minister to your children! We expect to lead many of them to a personal saving relationship with Jesus and develop them as disciples.Every child is made different and we seek to reach children according to their learning style. We hope the relationships your children form with peers and teachers encourage them to grow in godliness. We have lots of fun here as we follow Jesus and we want your children to have fun, too, as they follow us following the Lord! We seek to serve you as the spiritual leaders of your home. Where do my children go? 1st& 3rd service Three classes (K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th) meet in double-sized
rooms for interactive Bible study. First service curriculum is different
than third service. 2nd service All 1st - 5th graders meet in the community room for an age appropriate worship service that includes puppets, songs, object lessons, Power Point and lots of fun! Wednesday night, 7:00 All 1st-5th graders begin in the community room for (Adventure Club). We rotate through different rooms during the night for crafts, activities and small groups but will gather them together again in the community room for singing, closing and pick-up! Please note! ![]() [1] There are signs posted at each classroom door showing when and where each particular grade meets [2] If you stay for more than one hour you will pick up your child at a different place than you dropped them off! [3] Your timeliness in picking up your children is greatly appreciated by the volunteers who also have children to pick up! Can you send my children to meet me after the service? We prefer that you pick up your children in their rooms for a couple of reasons:{A} It allows the teacher to communicate with you about the lesson and how your child did that day. {B} Our guidelines direct us to never leave elementary children unattended. They can get hurt or lost. However, if you desire your elementary child to meet you at a designated place after a service you may sign the exemption form on in your child's registration sheet. No child shall be released without a parent unless the exemption form is signed. What steps do you take to keep my child safe? We desire to provide a professional, safe and godly environment for every
child. All of our volunteers (identified by their photo ID card) have been attending our fellowship for at least six months. They have filled out applications and reference checks have been made. Statewide background checks based on fingerprints are done for every volunteer who has lived in Ohio for five years or more. Volunteers living in Ohio for less than five years have a national FBI background check run. Our guidelines direct us to have two adults in every classroom& a hall monitor during each service to list rules about helping children in the bathroom and instruct how to report suspected abuse. These guidelines are available if you would like to read them. Anything else? Each quarter's memory verses are available at both children's ministry
tables to post on your fridge!Children must be supervised by a parent to participate in the cookie and coffee fellowship in the gym between first and second services. And please remember that cookies and drink from the fellowship time need to stay in the gym; your child is not permitted to bring them to class and make everyone else hungry! Every parent should read our discipline policy in order to better communicate with their children and the volunteers. This is great! How do I register? August is pre-registration, but you can register at anytime by filling
out a registration sheet available in every classroom and at either children's
ministry table. Our mission is to enthusiastically and courageously reach as many children as possible with the gospel. We pray your child's life is transformed into a living testimony of our Lord's grace, mercy and power! Children's Ministry - Introduction Children's Ministry - Parent's Page |
