Children's Ministry - Who We Are

Our Mission

Enthusiastically and courageously reach as many children as possible with the gospel

Our Purpose

To pastor children, support parents, equip children’s ministers and extend the ministry

I. Pastor Children - By building a community that:
  • Shepherds children to personally experience God’s love to the fullest.
  • Develops children who will follow, worship and share Christ in all their relationships.
  • Encourages children to fulfill God’s plan for them with creativity and joy.

II. Support Parents - By building a community that
  • Affirms and strengthens them in their role as the primary spiritual leaders in the home.

III. Equip Children’s Ministers - By building a community that:
  • Provides biblical and practical training for Berean’s volunteers.
  • Encourages Berean’s volunteers in their spiritual life and in their ministry to children.
  • Mentors other children’s ministries.

IV.Extend the Ministry - By building a team that:
  • Develops and carries out goals, policies and budget to achieve the ministry mission and purpose.
  • Promotes the children’s ministry vision to the community
  • Evaluates, implements and maintains ministry tools and staffing.

Children’s Ministry Theme & Goals for 2005-2006

The Armor of God

“Put on the full armor of God.” - Ephesians 6:11

Goal #1: Provide at least two opportunities for the children to serve the community and the world through service projects.
Goal #2: Provide quarterly “family lunches” to encourage and equip parents in their role as the primary spiritual leaders of their home.
Goal #3: Host a Family kick-off event to strengthen parent/child relationships and introduce our theme
Goal #4: Host quarterly team-building for volunteers.
Goal #5: Increase Adventure Club attendance 30% through maturing our small group ministry.
Goal #6: Have 20 children successfully complete the discipleship class.
